Cute blog. Today Nadine went birdwatching with her dad.

Daddy Marc took me to the park today. I saw something move on top of me by the tree branches...

"What are those things Daddy Marc?"
"Those are birds Nadine!"

A great post about the National Aviary in Pittsburgh, PA

After lunch, we ended up in a bookstore, where we met, Sarah, the “Bird Nurse” at the National Aviary. When she found out we had come up there just to see the Aviary, she offered to show us things behind the scenes when we got there the next day. I was more excited that a child waiting for Christmas morning to arrive. Hardly slept that night. I praise the Lord for letting us meet up with her and know it was not just an “accident.”

Bird Watching Basics

Your Bird Feeder

This is a great post to help you get started with your birdwatching.

You probably hear birds every day, but can you tell one bird song from the next? Birdwatching, or birding, is an increasingly popular hobby in many parts of the world. Venturing out to look for and listen to various species of birds in your locality can be both enriching and relaxing. All you need is a pair of binoculars, a field guide, and a willingness to observe.

25 Years Conducting Bird Walks

Your Bird Feeder

Congrats to Debbie Becker for conducting bird tours for 25 years. If you live in the area why not join her for a tour?

Every Saturday at 11 a.m. throughout most of the year, a few dozen people gather at the Reflecting Pool in the Leon Levy Visitor Center with binoculars and high hopes. They’ve come to go on a walk in search of the birds that live at the Botanical Garden either year-round or temporarily during migration periods.

Keep Your Bird Feeder Clean

Your Bird Feeder

This post shows the importance of keeping your bird feeder clean.

I have neglected to clean my bird feeders for a long period so, yesterday, I had a "blitz" on them. What prompted me to do this was the lack of my regular goldfinches: They simply stopped coming!
