This post has some fabulous pictures of barn owls and some great information.
And beyond them, just out of sight, is a tumbledown farm building where, for three previous winters, a barn owl took refuge. All this is ghostly and enchanting. And coming to know it has changed the way I cope with winter and my relationship with the natural world.
